Well here's the news.....
Last night was the Hilary Duff concert, and Jacinda had a great time, we did get pictures too but I think Jacinda had a better time before the concert. We were going to dinner near the Halifax Metro Centre(at Scotia Square) And decided to see if by last minute any better tickets had been added or returned.
While we were there the winners of the Zellers contest were there going in for a sneak preview to hear Hilary Duff sing a few songs for her sound check, those children were going to get their pictures taken with the star. After everyone had gone in An employee, who shall remain unidentified, was getting ready to close up the door. I approached said employee and said look I know we didn't win, but is their any chance someone wasn't able to make it, or that you may have room for two more, you would absolutley make her life if she got to meet Hilary Duff. The employee smiled and said that they would check, after all the worst that could happen was they would say no right! The employee said they would return, and after a few minutes we were thinking that they weren't coming back. We were about to leave when they popped their head out and said come on in we have room for two more. Talk about luck, we got to sit in the 6 row (or there abouts) and get a picture taken with Hilary Duff. Jacinda was so excited!!!!!!!!!
I hope you enjoy these photos, because were were also not suppose to take any at the concert but did anyway. I also just realized my camera is a bit messed up the pictures should say the 30th not the 29th(I must have it on am not pm)

I have had a hard time trying to decide what to do when it comes to the upcoming election. For those of you who know me, elections and I do not mix......or so I thought. Up untill the last election I had never bothered to vote. My theory was no matter who gets in .............someone will complain to me about it, often even if the person they wanted to get in did!
So for years I turned a deaf ear to the political mumbo jumbo.
But last year I started to wake up, yes wake up. I'm not sure how it happened but I realized that I was simply ignorant to how this all affected me as a Canadian, as a mother, as an employee, as a person.....
I am supremely glad I woke up when I did because this new election is going to impact me greatly. The stabalization grant, that increases my wage by 2 whole dollars an hour, will be gone in March. If that is gone many child care workers will barely make more than minimum wage. So now the question is who to vote for. Well the Conservatives are not friends to the Early Childhood Educator, they want to increase available spaces by providing more spaces, this helps daycare owners, and government run centres, but does nothing for the worker who will have more children to care for. NDP wants to make childcare available to everyone for 5 dollars a day, this is not a bad idea, but I'm not sure how realistic. I'm still not sure where the Liberals stand on childcare, because they are talking about money, but hemming and hawwing over who is going to get it.

Here is my advice.............Get out and Vote!!!
Take your own choice and help to make it happen.
Besides if you don't vote, you can't complain right?

Who says the weather outside is frightful?

As you can see here the children are not suffering from the cold, many of our friends are worried their spring plants are going to grow!

We all should be proud of our children, but I have to say I am seeing my daughter grow into a caring, and concerned youth. Jacinda has just become a Peacemaker Leader at her school, she is getting training to go out on the playground to help her peers solve their problems. Peacemakers have to listen to both parties who are involved in a dispute and helps the parties communicate and work out their problems ammicably. The peace keeper team meets regularily with other teams( the bully smart team, and the PAC team) to discuss problems in the school yard.

I think this shows a concerned bunch of kids.

20 days left!!!
The countdown has officially begun. In 20 days I will be middle aged, and the world as I know it will change. Sure.... many people who are older then 30, (and you know who you are) are saying ,"Jennifer your still so young". But middle age symptoms are starting to creep in. I have started to forget things, for instance did I really say I would take my kids to a movie, or are they pulling the wool over my eyes............when you are not sure if you said something or if your brilliant offspring are taking advantage your failing mental capacities, then it is time to look at your life. I have started leaving things in odd places, so to prevent losing everything but the kitchen sink, I have started trying to keep things super organized. This has had it's downfalls of course, because now my husband thinks I'm insane, every time something is out of place I can't seem to relax until I put it where it belongs for fear that I'll forget where it is.
Well maybe I'm streching the truth a bit, so far I've only misplaced my keys, and I did say I'd take the kids to a movie. Thats okay because I heard that exaggerating is another thing middle aged people do.
I'll write again soon.

Hooray Jacinda finally got her Hilary Duff tickets. I was going to burst if I kept that secret much longer. She is already telling all her friends! Special thanks go out to Jeremy and Katherine, Jay and Chris, and Bubbi for helping to make the moment possible by paying for her ticket as a 10th birthday gift.
Here is Jared recieving his Nintendo Game Cube and tv for his bed room. He says he knew all along it was a Game Cube because that is what he always wanted.( I asked what he wants next, Jared's response; a million dollars)

Bringing in the new year with family. Here are Lee and Josh spending some quality time together while watching the kids open their gifts.
