It's my life.....................
What's new,,,,, not much besides this blog. Well My boss fired two people in the last week. This is something she has never had to do and I think it upset her. One person didn't work out and one of our students called in sick over and over, but was seen at a rally screaming and shouting when she was too sick to work....and thats how she lost the job (keep that in mind if you ever call in sick and your not really sick, get caught, get fired!!! So don't be an idiot, only call in sick when your really sick). I am happy to have one of our teachers coming back after months of being away, the kids will be so excited to see her( she went home to stay with her family, her mom has passed from cancer since then)
Well my probabtion is officially over, More pay gets deducted for life insurance, ( which we need g-d forbid Lee and I die, Wesley and Arlene would need something to help them raise our kids) Jacinda will be attending horse back riding camp in August, a week long day camp that will teach her the basics of riding, with other novice children. Both kids are looking forward to Canada day Celebrations this weekend, got a busy day planned from the museum, to the leigon to fireworks...... all with friends and their children. Poor Amanda has got a load on her mind, between work, her car and her address change, she is getting a bit stressed,. ( but still ready for a good game of late night Kanasta lol!)

I have to go make 3 silly little boys go to bed. Why is it when there are many sleeping options to choose from, little boys tend to cram all into one bed and laugh half the night through?

Ah well...... got to go be a party pooper!

What is wrong with the world today?

What is the world coming to when a person can crash on a bicycle in front of a fire station, on a major street at lunch hour and have nobody to stop and help them? Our good friend Myrna was riding her bike yesterday and crashed severely breaking her wrist. This took place right in front of a fire station, cars, fire trucks, and police cars all drove past without bothering to help. What is wrong with people? Two seniors who were cycling behind her stopped to assist her....Thank g-d, but I'm seeing a serious problem. People are afraid of helping(good deeds are not only done on schedual!)
If this were America, I would understand. Everyone is terrified of lawsuits, goodness forbid you help a fellow human in need, and wind up in court because you pushed too hard when you did CPR! But here in Canada we have a law, The GOOD SAMARITAN LAW, it prevents you from being sued for helping someone. Why then does it seem that Canadian compassion, which we are known world wide for, is going down the crapper?

The problem is us, well not just us, our parents too, and now our children. Our parents were brought up with rules, and rigid mind sets, that they rebelled against, and felt that they should do better by their kids, giving them things they never had, and, offering them so many choices and opportunities. However that has led to a generation that sees parenting differently. We feel the need to give more, to give bigger and better. Children now rule the roost, eating what they want (not what's is necessarily what is healthy) pushing the adults around, demanding things without manners, whining, and tantruming to get things done their way.
What are they learning? It's simple the world is here to give me what I want, when I want it! But that is not what they need to learn. They need discipline, crave it even, and structure. They need to learn flexibility and compassion for others. This isn't done easily, and sometimes it seems easier to give in then to have the battle of wills, but fight it please!. I see it daily, children telling their moms and dads no, saying what they will do and when they will do it. It is insane! Parents need to step up and take back control. Tell them it is not no. it's now! You are the parent they are the child, you aren't going to do things to hurt them, but you do know more then a child about what they need!
Most of the children that I work with were so picky they hardly ate anything, only wanting bits of this or that, and not eating things that someone worked hard to make them. Now I am never going to force my kids to clean their plates, but I will make them stay and try something they do not like, even if they tried it yesterday. I'll say this, your children will not starve themselves, if they don't eat it...Wait, they eventually will. Talk to them about it, about foods you didn't like when you were young, but love now, offer a drink to wash down something they are not fond of. When they are sad with a decision talk about it, they may not like why it was made, but it helps if you explain why it was made, and the next time they may understand a bit more, and they will know that you are not going to be a push over.
It is time to take back from our children the role of head of the house, start by offering acceptable choices,. Do you want chicken or soup, you choose because I'm only making one, but you can decide what one it will be. You don't want to clean up the toys you threw around, well here are your choices... You can do it by yourself, or I can help you do it, but not doing it isn't a choice. It's A or B there is no C. Let them learn natural consequences. I'm sorry sweetie , you didn't put your playdough back , and now it's dried up, so we can't play with it. Let them see what their actions cause....

I am going to continue doing my part with my children( mine and those at work) What else can I do to help and make a more caring, respectful generation?

My boring life......
I guess I should post, but there is not much to tell. Work is good, ( busy as always) And summer is approaching. I feel bad for Jacinda, she had to hand in her violin for the summer. I am, looking into purchasing her a cheap full sized one ( if you see anything good at the auction, or have one sitting in your cupboard, please let me know!) Jared is turning 9 in a week, but is having his party on Saturday( yes I know it's Father's day) Jared wanted a pool party, and Lee would rather have him happy. Can anyone tell me what the heck is the point of asking people to R.S.V.P at a child's party, because nobody does!!!!!
I hate that. I found out that I will be going to see the Dixie Chicks in August, I gotta love a group where the lead singer is almost as loud and outspoken as I am. I guess I should add a few notes........ Congratulations to Katherine, nobody understands more then I how hard it is to go to school with a little one at home, and to still have your sanity at the end,.( sanity/mental lapses....potato/patato) Beth you looked awesome at the prom. Christopher, I'm pissed off as hell that you are moving back to Alberta just like that! You didn't give the Maritimes a chance. Why come down to be near your family, never visit, then leave? Ysa..., we both need to call more(lol)
Life with a more crowded household is going fine. I guess that all for now!

On the Mend!!

Well I'm glad to finally be feeling a bit better. I had a horrible gaestro intestinal flu... I felt like I was dying. One doctor even thought I had galbladder disease(turns out my mom did when she was my age, and I'm at high risk!!) Things here are hectic, mom my had her biopsy yesterday, and is awaiting her results , but I think she will get a clear bill of health from the doctor( then maybe she will stop telling me how she isn't going to live out the year, and will have to become more optimistic!) Lee is considering going back to school as a mature student, Yeah LEE!!!
and the children (especially Jared) are looking forward to summer. We need to send a welcome out to Amanda who has joined out slightly cramped home. Jacinda and her will be sharing the Hillary Duff/ hockey room......ahh that's a strange combination if I do say so myself. Though I have discover Amanda has a very girly girl side to her that she tries to keep hidden. The cats are both well Tepesch has become Oreo's mom, she grooms her and keeps her in line when she silly. She is also the first to run to her is she's crying. The other day we trimmed their nails and Oreo cried so loud that Pesch ran over and started to cry back at her in concern, then when it was over she gave her a bath. Our weekly Dungeons and Dragons group keeps growing now even our Superintendent Scott has joined in, every has lots of fun!!
Well I need to help the kids get ready for synagogue, have a great weekend everyone!

Did you ever pick up a book based on the cover, and be totally shocked when you read the story?
I was at a rummage sale,(some far off church in the boonies) and I picked up a children's book called "Let the Celebration Begin". From the cover I thought it was about a far off culture celebrating a festival. I love books for kids so I bought it for a dime I think. When I got home I discovered that it was a book about women in a concentration camp sewing together pieces of their clothes to make stuffed animals for the children who live in their barracks. Well you never know what you'll find huh! I'm just glad that I found it before anyone else!
Neat huh!
